Encompassing all disciplines, Community of Science is the largest and most comprehensive research funding database on the Web. COS Web-based products and services are designed to promote your work, find funding, access experts, consult, and collaborate with colleagues. Updated daily, COS Funding Opportunities includes more than 20,000 records of opportunities from around the world.
COS is a fee-based subscription service paid for by the University. Hands-on COS training for Southern Miss faculty and staff is scheduled periodically, or you can request special arrangements for yourself, department or unit. View the COS Workshop schedule (PDF) for Summer 2005.
Grants Resource Center (GRC), a division of American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), is a comprehensive, Washington-based grants service
available to subscribing institutions. Assisting with
private as well as federal sponsors, GRC offers up-to-date
funding information combined with individualized services.
This Web site is available through a paid subscription
by Sponsored Programs Administration. It is
restricted to the “@usm.edu” domain; however off-campus
access may be given to a faculty member
on a special needs basis. Please contact our Information Specialist for details.
Each month we issue a publication, known as the SPA Reporter, which features current news and upcoming funding opportunities. Compiled by Grants Resource Center (GRC), this document is available online at our Publications and Reports page. It includes solicitations for publication and research grants, fellowships, scholarships, awards, and seminars for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate work from private foundations and federal agencies.
The funding opportunities are summarized then organized in four broad categories (Arts/Humanities/International; Education/Human and Community Development; Health/Mental Health; and Science/Engineering). The PDF format enables faculty and staff to use Adobe Acrobat's search function to find key terms.
Access to this publication is limited to the "@usm.edu" domain due to copyright restrictions. Members of the Southern Miss community may contact our Information Specialist at 601-266-4119 for alternate access to restricted files.
