American Honda Foundation grant eligibility requirements:

1.     Applicant organizations must have IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization status

2.     Proposed projects must be related to youth and scientific education.

•  The Foundation uses the following definitions: "Youth" includes pre-natal through 21 years of age.

•  "Scientific education" encompasses the physical and life sciences, mathematics, and environmental sciences.

3.     EXCLUSIONS: AHF does not support the following:

•  Individuals

•  Scholarships for Individuals

•  Private foundations

•  Programs outside the United States

•  Arts and culture

•  Health and welfare issues

•  Disaster Relief

•  Medical research and/or educational research

•  Research papers

•  Social issues or groups that serve the special interests of their constituency

•  Propaganda statements

•  Attempts to influence legislation

•  Advocacy

•  Fund-raising (i.e. dinners, parties, receptions, auctions charity balls and/or 5K walk/run)

•  A sponsorship for either a profit or nonprofit organization

•  Advertising

•  Building funds or capital campaigns

•  Endowments

•  Corporate memberships

•  Conferences or seminars

•  Veterans’ or fraternal organizations

•  Service club activities

•  Youth recreational activities/playground equipment

•  Student foreign exchange programs

•  Trips or tours

•  Beauty and talent contests

•  Requests for a vehicle or other Honda product donation

4.     Submission limitation: one application per organization per year
