Garrett Cimino, LMSW
Case Manager
Garrett Cimino is a Licensed Master Social Worker and serves as the case manager for Student Counseling Services. Originally from the Los Angeles area, Garrett received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Utah and his master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi. His experience includes working for the USM School of Social Work and SAMHSA in the area of disaster mental health related to Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill as well as clinical internships at Pine Grove in Hattiesburg and the USM Counseling Center. As case manager Garrett handles intake sessions (your first session) as well as helping students connect to any other services they may need – either on campus or in the community. His clinical interests include: diversity, grief, self-esteem/empowerment, anxiety, depression, and family issues – particularly dysfunction related to addiction. When Garrett isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time with his dogs, Scooter Elliott and Duncan Franklin, playing music, cooking, and roller derby.
