AlcoholEdu

AlcoholEdu and Haven are interactive online courses mandatory for Southern Miss freshmen.  We implement these courses as part of your college curriculum to help educate you about the consequences related to alcohol misuse and abuse, how to be a responsible consumer and how to help peers who may abuse alcohol and to make you more aware of sexual assault risks and consequences.

Below are the directions and completion dates for both courses.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY:

 

You are expected to complete AlcoholEdu and Haven. We urge you to access all courses so they are added to your EverFi dashboard before beginning any of the content.

ALCOHOLEDU FOR COLLEGE - COURSE OPENS 7/21/14

Directions for beginning the course


Step 1. You will need your SOAR user ID and password issued to you during orientation. 
Step 2. Login to SOAR at www.soar.usm.edu.*
Step 3. Click on SA Self Service.
Step 4. Click on the Student Center page.
Step 5. Click on the <AlcoholEdu> link, which is at the bottom of the Student Center page.

HAVEN UNDERSTANDING SEXUAL ASSAULT - COURSE OPENS 7/21/14

Step 3. Click on SA Self Service.
Step 4. Click on the Student Center page.
Step 5. Click on the <Haven > link, which is at the bottom of the Student Center page.

  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities.

  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major Web browser released within the previous two years.

  • You may take the course(s) in multiple sittings.

  • The courses may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; the school will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.

  • You may log in and out of the course at the end of each section. Section ends are marked with a “Next” button. DO NOT log out until you click the “Next” button, or you will have to repeat the section you have just gone through.
