Before you apply for a program make sure you have read through the Prospective Students section of this website (under the students tab in the menu to the left).
To apply, click the “Apply Now” button in the top right of this screen.
If you have never applied for a study abroad program with us before, you will first need to register an account. To register an account, click “Registration for Study Abroad”. Plan to complete your registration in one sitting. After you register you will be able to log back in using your username (email address) and password (you create in the registration process).
Log-in to our application software and apply for your program of choice.
Program Deposit: Before we can review your application we must receive your program deposit:
- $250 for all short-term programs and International Exchange Programs, including Semester in Granada
- $500 for Affiliate Programs
Deposits must be paid by check, cash, and money order or via debit/credit card in person or by calling the Office of International Programs, 601.266.4344.
Unless a student is academically ineligible for program participation, or the program or a particular class within the program is cancelled, program deposits are non-refundable.
Official Transcripts: Non USM students (only) must send all Official Transcripts or proof of enrollment as a first semester Freshman to the Office of International Programs. Transcripts are accepted electronically and should be sent directly from your Registrar to Melissa.Ravencraft@usm.edu or physical copies may be mailed to Office of International Programs, 118 College Drive # 5069, Hattiesburg MS, 39406-0001.
It takes 5-7 business days to process applications. Upon acceptance into a program, the post-acceptance portion of your application will become available and all participants must complete each portion prior to departure.
Students are able to log in to their application and make changes up to the payment deadline (i.e. roommate preferences, flight departure cities, etc.).
