CIS Abroad Semester in Rome
An educationally rewarding academic program in a friendly and safe foreign environment! Our Semester in Rome program allows you to study within a variety of academic areas and experience all that life in the Eternal City has to offer.
Semester in Rome takes place at the American University of Rome, located in the historic Trastavere district near the Vatican. For almost 3 millennia the city has withstood natural disaster, internal strife, and multiple wars to emerge glorious and indomitable. There is something unique about Rome and its rich history. Today it conveys a paradoxical blend of old and new, and enchants even the most stoic visitor.
Museums, monuments, and concerts galore – Spend a semester taking in everything you’ve read, seen, and dreamed about in history books: the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Cathedral, and the Pantheon.
A wide variety of courses – Semester in Rome offers a variety of exciting courses in archaeology, art history, business, communications, international relations, Italian studies, and more.
When in Rome, do as the Romans – We encourage you to immerse yourself in the culture, engage in the day-to-day life of the city, and do as much as possible to truly get a taste of the Roman way of life.
