University of Orleans
International Exchange Program
Situated in the heart of the Loire Valley amidst magnificent chateaux, Orléans is only an hour's train ride from Paris and serves as an important educational, scientific, and tourism center in the region. A picturesque bridge spans the Loire River, leading to the city center and the magnificent Cathedral of St. Croix et Loire.
Originally founded in 1306, the University of Orléans is today a thriving, modern university offering a comprehensive range of courses in various academic areas. More than 16,000 (including nearly 1,000 international) students are enrolled at the university, which is situated on an attractive parkland featuring landscaped walking paths and numerous small lakes.
Southern Miss students may choose courses in French language and culture, humanities, and liberal arts. With the exception of a few courses in the American Studies department, all courses are taught in French. Students typically earn between 12 - 15 credit hours per semester
