University Studies - Other Programs

Other courses offered through the Student Success Center provide direct support and supplemental instruction for students participating in various academic and residential programs on campus. Enrollment in some courses is restricted.

  • UNV 120. Leadership Seminar. A basic course to acquaint the student with the theory and practice of student leadership.
  • UNV 122. Luckyday Seminar. A basic course to acquaint Luckyday Leadership scholars with the concepts of servant leadership, service-learning and community engagement.
  • UNV 310. Introduction to Job Seeking. To acquaint students with job seeking techniques including professional resumé development, cover letter writing, interview skills training and networking strategies.
  • UNV 312. Mentoring Students in the University. Explores fundamental concepts and philosophies underlying the mentor's role in the university setting. Examines methods and techniques associated with effective mentoring.
  • UNV 315. Paraprofessionals in Resident Hall Environment. Introduces resident assistants to a variety of topics for understanding and working with college students and educational outreach in residential communities.
  • UNV 325. Peer Educators as Paraprofessionals. Explores a variety of topics for understanding, educating and helping.
  • UNV 450. McNair Scholars Research Seminar I. Prerequisite: Admission to McNair Scholars Program. An orientation to the skills and competencies necessary to understanding research and a comprehensive preparation for the GRE.
  • UNV 451. McNair Scholars Research Seminar II. Prerequisite: Admission to McNair Scholars Program. Directed research in a topic of interest to the student.
