Mike Post has been in theatre since he was drafted by his high school drama club. Since then, he has gained an Artium Baccalaureus in drama from Ripon College and a Masters of Fine Arts in theatre design and technology from the University of Montana. He last worked at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, where he served as master electrician for seven years and the assistant production manager for two years.

While there, Post designed lighting for "Always", "Patsy Cline", "Driving Miss Daisy", "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Idols of the King". He often designs lights at the Georgia Shakespeare Festival, including shows such as "Comedy of Errors", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Julius Caesar", "Death of a Salesman", and "A School for Wives". Post also was the stage manager at the Bigfork Summer Playhouse two years running, overseeing and designing sound for a repertory of five shows.
