Twelve Oaks Adaptive Use Feasibility Project in Jackson County, Mississippi

Twelve OaksUSM’s Trent Lott National Center staff was commissioned by a group of concerned citizens of the town of Gautier to determine the adaptive use feasibility of converting a privately-owned, historic home and property known as Twelve Oaks into a not-for-profit humanities field station in Gautier, Mississippi. The study focused assessed the potential types of humanities-related services that could be offered and potential funding sources for sustaining the field station.  The study benchmarked other similar historic properties, field stations, and cultural centers to determine the steps needed for preserving the property for long-term use.
