Join the Southern Miss Trumpet Studio for a day-long celebration of trumpety goodness!
Featuring our guest artist Dr. Darcie Bishop, principal trumpet of the Mississippi Symphony, the 2009 Southern Miss Trumpet Day offers high school and university trumpet students and other trumpet enthusiasts a day of master classes by Dr. Bishop and Dr. Kelly, ensemble rehearsals, and performances sure to enlighten and inspire. The event will conclude with a finale concert featuring Dr. Bishop, the Southern Miss Trumpet Quintet, the Southern Miss Trumpet Ensemble, and the Trumpet Day Trumpet Ensemble — a mass ensemble of all Trumpet Day participants!
With support from the Yamaha Corporation and Mississippi Music we will be giving away TWO Yamaha Silent Brass systems and an assortment of other “trumpet goodies.”
All events will take place in our beautiful Bennett Auditorium, Southern’s premiere concert venue.
