Requirements
In addition to the university’s general education core requirements, the B.F.A. in dance education requires a 66-hour dance core, 18 hours of dance education classes and a 15-hour professional education sequence, to include:
Dance Technique and Composition
DAN 202 and 201 may be required for students not meeting 300-level requirements.
- DAN 302, 402 (ballet) – 12 hours
Minimum one semester at 400 level - DAN 301,401 (modern) – 15 hours
Minimum two semesters at 400 level - DAN 306: Bartenieff – 3 hours
- DAN 210: Improvisation– 3 hours
- DAN 212: Intermediate Composition – 3 hours
- DAN 310: Advanced Composition –3 hours
- DAN 312: Choreography Research – 2 hours
DAN 220: Freshman Repertory – 1 hour - *DAN 320: Production (minimum one) – 3 hours
