Amy Chasteen Miller: Associate Professor of Sociology

Dr. Amy Chasteen Miller engages her students not only in their coursework, but also in their communities. As an associate professor of sociology, she incorporates active learning into the curriculum to help students become involved in their own learning processes.

Dr. Miller works with students in the Honors College who are conducting independent research projects. These students are gaining valuable skills that will help them on their journey well beyond graduation.

The Honors College at Southern Miss is the sixth-oldest honors college in the nation. Students in the Honors College have access to smaller classes, research and active learning opportunities, and Honors housing.
