Facilities and Research

Besides the regular curriculum, the department offers undergraduate research opportunities through the Undergraduate Research Program and Honors Program. These significantly widen the range of curricular choices and opportunities for students.

The $2.9 million Wright W. and Annie Rea Cross Chair in Mathematics and accompanying Endowment for Undergraduate Research will impact students’ learning through increased opportunities for scholarships and research.

Pre-service teachers have opportunities to work for external grants that are related to math education, and they also can serve as tutors in the Math Zone, a computer-based teaching and learning center. The educational and work-related environments are structured to provide a valuable experience for students.
