The major area of study requirements for the religion major include 30 semester hours that are defined in the following manner:

• REL 131 (Comparative Religion)
• PHI 372 (Philosophy of Religion)
• a course in Western religions
• a course in Eastern religions
• a capstone course (REL 480)

The remaining 15 semester hours may be chosen from courses with a REL prefix or from designated courses in other departments that have been approved as religion-related.
