Requirements
- Earn a cumulative and Southern Miss GPA of at least 2.5 or above
- Have only 6-9 hours of prerequisite courses remaining from the university and social work core
- Complete the three pre-social work courses:
- SWK 301, which requires a 40-hour volunteer field placement at a social service agency that is arranged with the help of their instructor
- SWK 300
- SWK 315
- Complete the Human Growth and Development/Developmental Psychology course (PSY 275) and the Human Sexuality Requirement (CHS430).
- Earn a grade of “C” or better in all courses that counts toward the B.S.W. degree
- New student cohorts accepted only in the fall semester of each academic year on the gulf coast campus
