About this Bachelor's Degree

The bachelor of science degree program in sport management offers professional preparation in sport management. In addition to completing the university’s General Education Curriculum, the student must complete a 42-semester-hour degree core and the specialization courses in sport management and business.

The sport management degree program is designed to prepare students who seek careers in sport programming such as:

  • Private enterprise
  • Municipal sport administration
  • Professional athletic office operations
  • College athletic administration
  • Interscholastic athletic administration

Learning Outcomes/Objectives

  • Students completing the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management will have a mastery of practical skills necessary for careers in sport management and administration.  
  • Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management degree program will understand how to identify and address ethical issues in sport management and administration.
  • Students completing the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management will be prepared to enter the entry-level work force as a sport manager.
  • Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management degree program will be able to develop a marketing plan for a sport organization.
  • Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Sport Management degree program will be able to write a sports law brief.
