Ryan Parker: Marine Biology

Ryan Parker, a marine biology major, chose Southern Miss because of the small class sizes and personal attention that our students receive. Now, he's not only getting to know his professors, but he's engaging in active learning classes where he is looking at the world in a new way. Ryan even participated in a study-abroad program in Honduras where he was able to explore his interest in marine mammal research.

Study-abroad programs at Southern Miss offer experiences beyond the boundaries of traditional classrooms. Through these programs, students can earn credit toward their majors while gaining international experience.
