The Southerner is the official yearbook for The University of Southern Mississippi. The Southerner yearbook is compiled and created by a staff comprised of undergraduate students. Students are responsible for all photography, reporting, design and layout of the book. The staff begins work on the book each fall and yearbooks are distributed to the university community each May. Students are paid for their work on staff and working for The Southerner is great, hands-on experience for any student pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Art, Photojournalism, Journalism or English.
