Summer Faculty Research Grants

Electronic applications due by 5:00 pm September 27, 2007

The University Research Council, on behalf of the Vice President of
Research and Economic Development, solicits proposals annually for Summer Faculty Research Grant awards. All proposals will be submitted electronically.

The following are examples of Summer Faculty Research Grant proposals from previous competitions:

• "Processes of Resilience Among African-American Youth At-Risk for Delinquency"
  Jerome R. Kolbo (awarded 1999)
• "The 'Poverty' of Regional Economic Development"
  Mark M. Miller (awarded 2005)
• "Breast Cancer Mapping in Mississippi: A Pilot Study"
  Amal K. Mitra (awarded 2002)

Innovation Awards

Nomination deadline - November 16, 2007

The University Research Council solicits nominations from each dean for the annual Innovation Awards. Faculty members can make recommendations to their chairs, who will provide a list of names to the dean. Deans will consult with their College Research Committee to narrow the field to two nominees per category and will send a list of nominees from each college to the URC for selection.
