USM Mailout Policy:
General
  • To submit a request for USMmailout transmission, please e-mail the text to usmmailout@usm.edu.
  • Messages sent on USM Mailout:
    • Contain official announcements regarding university-related business and information.
    • Solicitations of employment, membership or petition signatures are prohibited.
    • Political statements, editorials or other statements of opinion are prohibited.
    • Use of this service for commercial interest is prohibited.
Distribution
  • In order to ease the load of e-mail to the university community, all submissions will be compiled into one message weekly for each audience.
  • Stand-alone e-mails are only allowed for emergency and other critical messages for the university community.
  • All messages will be reviewed, approved and distributed by the Marketing and Public Relations office.

Instructions

  • Include requestor name and Employee ID with each request.
  • Indicate the audience who should receive the message.
    • If you want your message to go to faculty, staff and students, submit it only to the faculty/staff/student mailing, rather than all three.
    • Messages will be sent once to each audience and will not be duplicated and sent repeatedly in successive weeks.
    • All submissions after the deadline will be posted the following week.
