The demand for optically transparent UV formulations with a long life cycle is increasing due to the use of new high performance materials. These high performance materials are utilized in electronics, solar cells, automotive, communication and engineering applications. Demands on these materials are quite high and include operation at a broad temperature range, optical transparency, abrasion resistance, improved tensile strength, chemical resistance, and mechanical toughness. By combining cationic UV curing and free radical UV curing with silica based nanotechnology, optically transparent coatings with outstanding performance characteristics can be achieved.
