A.P.E.S Week
A.P.E.S Week is a week dedicated to service. The acronym, A.P.E.S, stands for Alpha's Performing Excellent Service. Throughout the week, the men of the Mu Xi chapter strive to make a difference on the campus of Southern Miss as well in the community. The week is highlighted with Mu Xi's elaborate Miss Black & Gold Scholarship Pageant. This year's Miss Black & Gold was none other than Miss Bianca Frederick, a native of Jackson, Mississippi. In addition to the pageant, the chapter saluted ten women in the community with the "Women of Essence Award." Other service events were also hosted throughout the week.

Mandingo Fest
Mandingo Fest is a week dedicated to not only service but social events for the community as well.
