The Kaigler-Lamont Award is awarded each year to a children’s or school librarian for distinguished
accomplishments in promoting children’s reading in Mississippi schools and public libraries. The award is
presented annually at The University of Southern Mississippi School of Library and Information Science
Fay B. Kaigler Children’s Book Festival.

 

The winner of the Kaigler-Lamont Award receives:

-Free registration to the Children’s Book Festival
-Plaque
-$500 honorarium
-$500 in books for your library

How to Nominate Someone for the Kaigler-Lamont Award:

1. Complete the application on the following page.

2. Provide a clearly written description of the reading promotion program(s) the
applicant has conducted (two to four pages in length). Photographs or
other supporting materials may be included as appropriate but
are not mandatory.

3. Provide at least two letters of support/recommendation for the applicant.

4. Return the application, the program(s) description, and the letters of support/recognition to:
