Admissions to graduate studies in our department are competitive in nature, so students with the highest G P A and G R E have the best chance for acceptance.
The G P As and G R E scores of the applicant pool vary from year-to-year. In general, successful applicants have G P A s of 3.0 and above for their last 60 hours of undergraduate course work and G R E scores above 850 for both the verbal and quantitative subsections of the test.
Current U S M undergraduates who need assistance in preparing for the G R E may wish to consider enrolling in the course M T C 480- Conquering the G R E .
U S M ' s on-campus testing center is located in Room 217 Walker Science Building. Call [601] 266-6123 for additional information about on-line testing services.
