painting, ceramics, and sculptures, students in the Art and Design program showcase
their work in a wide range of categories for the Annual Student Show. Please join
us in congratulating the 2020 Art & Design Annual Student Show Award winners and this
year's participants. The Annual Student Show is now available for viewing online.
USM Dance: Relive past performances presented by the USM Dance program in the School of Performing
and Visual Arts. In case you missed it, we recommend the crowd-pleaser “Venue” by
faculty member Brianna Jahn and student dancers, who performed this choreography at
the Dance Gala 2020.
The Dale Center: The Dale Center’s faculty fellows and graduate students appear in several different
media, from the Dale Center Blog, where they write posts highlighting issues in the
history of war and society and military history, to their YouTube channel, which houses
videos highlighting the work of Dale Center faculty. Browse through their multiple
media and have fun exploring a range of topics.
Interested in the Craft of Construction? Watch this Craft of Construction Lecture Series, covering topics specific to the design and construction industry, as it welcomes
successful leaders including Preston H. Haskell, founder of integrated design-build
firm The Haskell Company, and Richard Vivenzio, USM Architectural Engineering Technology
Alum. This lecture series is presented by the School of Construction and Design.
Southern Miss Concert Hall: A concert hall playlist dedicated to bringing some of the top live performances presented
by the Southern Miss School of Music to your home. From Mississippi's Bicentennial
Celebration to Phantom of the Opera, the co-winners of the American Prize in Musical
Theatre for 2018-19, you won’t want to miss this playlist updated on a weekly basis.
STEM Speaker Series 2020: The Center for Science and Math Education is set to go live on Zoom with the last
two sessions of the series for 2020. Invited guest speakers include Lindsey Clark,
Mathematics Cognition & Early Childhood researcher, and Dr. Diana Bernstein, climate
scientist and assistant research professor of the Division of Marine Science at Southern
Miss. Join the Zoom STEM Speaker Series 2020 on April 7, former, and April 21, for the latter, from 12:15-1

The Educated Guess Podcast: A monthly podcast, produced by WUSM, that explores common scientific questions about
our world. The show brings together experts from across disciplines who discuss a
wide range of topics, from the origins or life to the origins of us! The Educated
Guess is a co-production of the USM School of Biological, Environmental, and Earth
Science and School of Communication.
Mississippi Moments Podcast: Mississippi Moments began in early 2005 as a weekly series of radio spots broadcast
statewide on Mississippi Public Broadcasting with funding provided by the Mississippi
Humanities Council. Each episode features stories gleaned from hours of research,
edited for time and clarity and narrated by Mississippi broadcast veteran, Bill Ellison.
These stories range in topic and tone, but war stories and the struggle for civil
rights receive the most attention. MSMO is not a History series. History frequently
comes along for the ride, but Story drives the narrative.
Milton for Mississippi: A project that celebrates the literary achievement of John Milton (1608-1674) and
aims to provide Mississippians with access to Milton’s genius. “Milton for Mississippi”
is presented by Jameela Lares, Professor of English at Southern Miss and the Charles
W. Moorman Distinguished Professor of the Humanities for 2017-19.
Product: A student-run, online literary journal produced annually through the Center for Writers at the Southern Miss. It publishes poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and drama, as well as work of student visual artists. Explore a variety of media that represents the diverse and creative campus voices.
Spotify Playlist: Take us everywhere and add our Southern Miss playlist, featuring popular tunes by the Pride of Mississippi and the USM Wind Ensemble, to your own playlist to play from your devices at home.
