Birds 101-How to Recognize and Support Them

Presented by:  Aaron Mitchell from the Pinewoods Audubon Society

Description: 

Walk around the Payne Center with an expert birdwatcher who will share with us his insight on native and migrating birds viewable in the area. 

Objectives:

  •         Learn what birds are native to the area and to the campus
  •         Understand their impact to the ecosystem
  •         Identify how we can support them (i.e .yard feeding & not putting out certain items, etc.)
  •         Understand feeder placement strategies
  •         Review how to prevent window strikes wherein birds are injured or worst
