1. What does "AOP" stand for?  

Association of Office Professionals 

 

2. Who is eligible to join?

USM employees who are Administrative Support Personnel can become Members.
Former USM employees who have retired can become Retired Members
Any person who is interested in advancing the purpose of AOP but not eligible for active or retired membership including supervisors and students can become Associate Members.     

3. What rights and duties do Members have?
Rights- Voting, holding office, and participating in Professional Standards Program
Duties- pay dues

4.  What rights and duties do Retired Members have?
Rights-attend all AOP events and meetings under the same conditions as an AOP member. 
Duties- do not pay dues

5.  What rights and duties do Associate Members have?

Rights- same rights and privileges of active members except that of voting, holding office, and
participating in the Professional Standards Program.
Duties- pay dues 

6. What are the benefits to being a member of AOP?

7. How do I join AOP?
 
Please complete this ONLINE MEMBERSHIP FORM and submit your annual dues. Instructions on submitting dues are included with the linked form. 
 
 
8. Does it cost to join AOP? 
 
Currently we have membership dues set for $5.00 annually to help cover the cost of events and affiliation. 

 
9. What does "PSP" stand for? 

Professional Standards Program

 
10. What is the Professional Standards Program (PSP)? 
 
This PSP is a program administered at the national level of our organization. It is designed as a series of 8 graduated steps through which an enrollee can attain 8 certificates. With each certificate, AOP members are granted salary increases for exhibiting the desire to improve personally and professionally as a university office employee. 11. What does MAEOP stand for? 
MAEOP stands for the Mississippi Association of Educational Office Professionals. It is our state level affiliated organization, and many of our current officers and members are a part of it. To learn more about MAEOP, please check out their website here

12. What does NAEOP stand for?
