Grammarly

Grammarly’s AI-powered products help people communicate more effectively. Millions of users rely on Grammarly every day to make their messages, documents, and social media posts clear, mistake-free, and impactful. As a College of Business & Economic Development Major or Minor, you have access to the Premium version!

As you type, Grammarly checks your text for hundreds of common and advanced writing issues. The checks include common grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement, article use, and modifier placement, in addition to contextual spelling mistakes, phonetic spelling mistakes, and irregular verb conjugations. Grammarly also provides synonym suggestions to make your writing more readable and precise.

To activate your Grammarly account, please follow the steps below...

  1. Actively check your junk/clutter for the invite.  Invites are sent FROM Grammarly (typically from info@send.grammarly.com). A picture of what the email looks like can be found below.
  2. You should not change the e-mail address in your Grammarly account.  You must use your USM account.
  3. If you can’t find the Grammarly email and are using your phone, you need to log in (on a computer) to your USM account (portal.office.com) and check the junk mail folder.
  4. If you still cannot access Grammarly after trying the above steps or cannot locate the email, please contact Alanna Smith at alanna.smith@usm.edu.
