Brian J. Collins, Ph.D.

BAC Research Fellow and Associate Professor

Brian J. Collins, Ph.D. is the Business Advisory Council Research Fellow and an Associate Professor of Management in the College of Business. He joined the Southern Miss faculty in 2008 and teaches organizational behavior and human resource management.

Dr. Collins received the Louis K. Brandt Publication Award (2015-16) from the USM College of Business.

His research focuses on employee responses to supervisory treatment and how these perceptions influence workplace behavior. Specifically, he examines what supervisory actions motivate employees to work productively and what behaviors promote workplace deviance. His work is published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Leadership Quarterly among others.

Dr. Collins actively contributes to the Academy of Management and has been recognized as Outstanding Reviewer multiple times.
