"Slavery by Another Name" is the story about the shocking reality that often went unacknowledged in the early 20th century -- a huge system of forced, unpaid labor, mostly affected Southern black men, that last until World War II. These men were often charged with fictional crimes like vagrancy and were then bought and sold, abused and subjected to deadly work conditions as unpaid convict labor. This documentary is part of a series called "Created Equal" that will begin in Spring 2014 and is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
