Dr. Allison Abra, Assistant Professor and Nina Bell Suggs Professor in the Department of History, will give a talk about Deborah Brevoort's "The Women of Lockerbie," a play based on the story of the aftermath of the bombing of Pan Am 103 over LockerbieScotland. The play was inspired by the laundry project undertaken by Lockerbie women, who washed the clothes of the victims and returned them to the families.

Dr. Abra is a specialist in modern British history and she offers courses on a range of topics in British, European and world history. She is also affiliate faculty in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, and a fellow in the Dale Center for the Study of War & Society. Dr. Abra was also named Nina Bell Suggs Professor, an endowed professorship for junior faculty members of outstanding merit, selected from across The University of Southern Mississippi.
