Transcribe-a-thonThe Digital Archives Research Group, the Department of English, and University Libraries are going to combine efforts to serve as a host site for the Douglass Day Transcribe-a-thon on the Freedmen’s Bureau Papers. This event will celebrate what would be Frederick Douglass’ 200th birthday and allow participants to work with over 1,000 colleagues across the nation to transcribe materials from the Freedmen’s Bureau documents. The session will include a live stream celebration, instructions for transcription, two transcription sessions, and a birthday cake, made by local fourteen-year-old baker, Jadyn Cunningham.
