FANTASY FOOTBALL

 

 SIGNING UP FOR FANTASTY FOOTBALL

  1. Go to http://games.espn.go.com/nfl-gridiron-challenge/en/ 
  2. If you have an existing ESPN.com account:
  3. Sign In
  4. Select Create or Join Group.
  5. Search groups for “USM Intramurals
  6. Enter “usmims” as password and join group.
  7. Name should appear as your team name on group list once joined.
  8. Draft team.  You will only have 50 million to use in the draft.
  9. If you do not have an existing ESPN.com account:
  10. Scroll down to Gridiron Challenge (right side).
  11. Click sign up for free.
  12. Complete the member registration with all required fields filled out completely.
  13. Once registration is complete scroll to where user name is listed and click “Click Here” below that to return to original screen.
  14. Follow the direction from the “if you have an existing ESPN.com account” section.

**The 9 total slots on team’s roster consists of 2 from each of the following positions: Quarterback (QB), Running Back (RB), Wide Receiver (WR), Tight End (TE), Kicker (K), and Defense/Special Teams (D)

 

SCORING

OFFENSE: (QB, RB, WR, TE, K)

    • 6 pts per rushing, receiving or return touchdown
    • 4 pts per passing touchdown
    • 3 pts per field goal made
    • 2 pts per passing, rushing or receiving 2 pt conversion
    • 1 pt per 10 yards rushing or receiving
    • 1 pt per 25 yards passing
    • 1 pt per extra point made

     

    DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS: (D)

      • 10 pts for 0 points allowed
      • 7 pts for 2-6 points allowed
      • 4 pts for 7-13 points allowed
      • 1 pt for 14-17 points allowed
      • 0 pts for 18-21 points allowed (note: team defense is responsible for all points allowed)
      • -1 pts for 22-27 points allowed
      • -4 pts for 28-34 points allowed
      • -7 pts for 35-45 points allowed
      • -10 pts for 46+ points allowed
      • 5 pts per team win
      • 3 pts per defensive or special teams TD
      • 2 pts per interception
      • 2 pts per fumble recovery
      • 2 pts per blocked punt, point after touchdown or field goal (note: a deflected kick of any kind does not receive points)
      • 2 pts per safety
      • 1 pt per sack

      Rule 6: Sportsmanship

      1. RATING: Each team will begin the contest with a 5 sportsmanship rating and shall be rated by the officials at the end of the contest.  The authority of the officials’ ratings exists prior to, during, and following all contests to which that official is assigned, and extends to all persons on, at, or near the playing site.  Sportsmanship ratings shall be marked on the score sheet prior to captain signing off on the score and sportsmanship rating.

      A. (4.0) – Excellent Sportsmanship: Players cooperate fully with the intramural sports staff and opposing team members. If necessary, the captain converses calmly with officials about rule interpretations and calls.

      B. (3.0) - Good Sportsmanship: Team members verbally complain about some decisions made by the intramural sports staff and/or show minor dissent which may or may not merit a conduct warning (unsportsmanlike penalty / technical foul / yellow cards / etc.). Teams that receive one conduct warning will receive no higher than a "4" rating.

      C. (2.0) - Mediocre Sportsmanship: Team constantly comments to the intramural sports staff or the opposing team. The team captain exhibits little or no control over teammates or him/herself. Teams that receive one ejection or two conduct warnings (unsportsmanlike penalty / technical foul / yellow cards / etc.) will receive no higher than a “3” rating.

      D. (1.0) - Below Average Sportsmanship: Team constantly comments to the intramural sports staff or the opposing team. The team captain exhibits little or no control over teammates or him/herself. Teams that receive one ejection and one conduct warning or a combination of three conduct warnings (unsportsmanlike penalty / technical foul / yellow cards / etc.) will receive no higher than a "2" rating and the game will be forfeited.

      E. (0) - 1 - Unacceptable Sportsmanship: Team is completely uncooperative. Captain has no control over teammates and/or him/herself. Any team that receives two ejections or four conduct warnings (unsportsmanlike penalty / technical.
