About

The CCE coordinates the Campus Link AmeriCorps Program, which focuses on improving the academic ability and high school preparedness of fourth through eighth grade students in order to lower the high school dropout rate in Mississippi.

Our AmeriCorps members assist upper elementary and middle school students through tutoring in all subject areas (especially English and Math) and participate in mentoring activities that prepare students for transitioning from middle school to high school.

This year our members have the potential to earn a total of $159,942 in Education Awards, which may be used to pay for tuition, room and board, or to pay back student loans.

  • Full time members  (10 positions) serve a total of 1700 hours, receive a modest living allowance monthly, and earn an education award in the amount of $5,815
  • Half time members (10 positions) serve a total of 900 hours, receive a modest living allowance monthly, and earn an education award in the amount of $2,907.50
  • Minimum time members (60 positions) serve a total of 300 hours and receive an education award in the amount of $1,230.69
