Research Interests:

My research focus is on improving chemical education for general chemistry students at the university and high school level. I am more specifically interested in how attitude toward the subject of chemistry affects student performance and learning gains in general chemistry. My investigation asks questions, like whether attitude is affected by demographic variables, instructional methods and technology, and perceived utility of the subject. The intent of this research is to identify variables that could improve undergraduate students’ attitude toward the subject of chemistry, which would also improve their learning gains and performance in chemistry courses.

Presently Teaching Courses:

  • General Chemistry I
  • General Chemistry II
