Tale of Despereaux

Each year, more than 400 teachers and librarians from across the nation come to the University of Southern Mississippi to hear major speakers and participate in concurrent sessions and workshops as authors, illustrators, and experts in the field share their knowledge and experience. CEUs are available for Mississippi educators.

We are pleased to announce that the 2017 Festival will be held April 5-7 with Medallion winner Kate DiCamillo!  Keynote speakers include Kwame Alexander, Louise BordenBryan Collier, Pete Hautman, Florence and Wendell Minor, Coleen Salley Storytelling Award winner Pat Mora, de Grummond Lecturer Phyllis Reynolds Naylor, and Keats Lecturer Andrea Davis Pinkney.

In celebration of the 50th birthday of the Fay B. Kaigler Children's Book Festival we will have additional special events- announcements coming soon!
