ROLE OF TRAINING WITHIN THE

COMPLIANCE AND ETHICS PROGRAM

The role of the University Compliance and Ethics Program at The University of Southern Mississippi is to proactively raise awareness of compliance issues through education and training in order to ensure that compliance is central to the institution’s culture and fabric.

 

ONLINE COMPLIANCE TRAINING COURSE INFORMATION

 

COMPLIANCE TRAINING COURSE AVAILABILITY

  • Compliance Training is required for each of the following:
    • all benefit eligible employees, faculty and staff;
    • all adjuncts;
    • all supervisors;
    • all student employees; and
    • all students as of Fall, 2015.
  • Specific courses are assigned to eligible individuals based on their role at the University.
  • Data from SOAR has been used to assign training to eligible individuals.

NOTIFICATION OF ENROLLMENT AND REMINDER EMAILS

  • Each eligible individual will be automatically enrolled in the courses appropriate to the individual's role.
  • Upon enrollment, the Compliance Education system (SLATE) will generate an email advising each individual of enrollment in the courses and note that the courses must be completed within thirty (30) days from the date of enrollment.
  • Reminder emails will be sent out if a course is not completed within the first 14 days and will continue to be sent out every 7 days after the initial reminder.

Logging Into the USM Compliance Education System (after September 1, 2015)

    • Use the personalized link in the notification email; or
    • Use your Campus ID and Network password to log into the site using the following link:

 

INSTRUCTOR-LED TRAINING

In addition to the training offered via the online platform and assigned to you based on your role at USM, instructor-led training may also be requested for a group/department using the Instructor-Led Compliance Training Request.

 

MISSING AN ONLINE TRAINING COURSE

If you are an eligible individual (i.e. benefit eligible faculty, staff, or an adjunct, student or student employee), but do not receive the automated email enrollment notification by the date listed on the Compliance Training Courses webpage; please fill out the Request for Access to Online Compliance Education form.

 

CUSTOMIZED COURSE

Do you have the content necessary to build a course or a course already built in PowerPoint?  Request posting of your compliance related course to the Online system by filling out the SCORM Compliance Education Course Request, which will be reviewed by the Office of Compliance and Ethics.  If approved, your course will be created and accessible via the online system.
