We are glad you are interested in majoring in dance at The University of Southern Mississippi. All incoming dance majors must successfully audition for and be accepted into the dance program. Minors do not need to audition for the program. At the auditions we carefully assess prospective students for their aptitude to succeed in our program. We also consider technical and performance skills. Auditions are held in Studio 115 in the Theatre and Dance Building, located on the western side of campus, one block north of Hardy Street on Ross Boulevard.

The audition dates for the incoming class of fall 2017 are:

Saturday, November 5, 2016

*This year, our November auditions will begin at 1 pm, so that our auditionees can attend Black and Gold Day that morning! We encourage you to take advantage of the campus visit experience exclusively for high school seniors! For more information and to register, click here.

Saturday, February 4, 2017

Saturday, March 4, 2017.

You will need to submit you audition application materials not later than one week prior to your audition date. These include an audition application form and a resume detailing your dance experiences to date.
