To schedule an exam with the Office for Disability Accommodations (ODA), you must be registered with us and have Alternative Testing Accommodations.
ODA recommends that students schedule exams at least two (2) business days in advance. This is to ensure testing space and exam availability.
The University of Southern Mississippi has many opportunities available for students needing academic assistance or tutoring.
To maintain an accessible and safe environment at Southern Miss, ODA routinely collaborates with many departments on campus. The University's Safety Office, Police Department, Parking Management, Physical Plant and others have invested much time and energy into creating a campus that is welcoming to persons with disabilities.
Students should report any accessibility or safety concerns, as soon as possible, to anyone in the ODA professional staff (ODA Director, Assistant Director, Disability Specialist, Technology Specialist, or Administrative Assistant). Upon hearing an accessibility or safety concern, ODA will immediately address the situation. ODA works closely with all campus departments to keep the University accessible and safe. Further, ODA maintains a written record of the reported concerns and the University’s efforts to investigate and remedy the issue.
For safety purposes, it is recommended that students with disabilities keep a cellular phone with them at all times.
