Bio: Jerry R. Alliston, Ph.D., MSW currently serves as the Community Education Director at the Institute for Disability Studies, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at The University of Southern Mississippi.  Dr. Alliston has over 20 years of experience in the social sciences and disability fields focusing on medical social work, military disability case management, disaster case management, early intervention services, and transition services.  Dr. Alliston received his doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi as well as a Master in Social Work degree.  Dr. Alliston has recently concentrated on the development of inclusive national service programs, work initiatives, state self-advocates and leadership programs . . . he considers himself “blessed” to work with the future leaders of tomorrow.
