Become well-versed in the DuBard Association Method®.
Do you want to take your professional abilities to the next level? Professionals who have received preliminary training in the DuBard Association Method® are eligible and encouraged to participate in the practicum, which builds upon the Basic Course and provides guidance in using the higher levels of the DuBard Association Method® curriculum.
- Implementation of specific levels of the DuBard Association Method® curriculum
- Establishment of proficiency in oral and written skill development, utilizing specific multisensory techniques
- Informal evaluation of participant’s oral and written competency
- Planning for new instruction
- All requirements necessary to meet IMSLEC Teaching Level Standards for supervised practicum
- Up to 80 supervised clock hours
- Three follow-up observations/consultations at participant’s work site during a nine-month period. (May be done via virtual supervision.)
- Individuals who have completed the DuBard Association Method Basic Course® or SHS 432
Practicum will be scheduled on an individual basis for a minimum of three hours per day. Up to 80 hours of practicum may be scheduled during the summer program. Practicum will he held at the DuBard School for Language Disorders with sessions scheduled from June 6-30, 2016. Practicum must be scheduled with Missy Schraeder prior to May 8, 2016. Participants will work directly with enrolled or outclient students under the supervision of a master’s level speech-language pathologist.
Individuals who wish to enroll on an academic credit basis must be admitted/readmitted to The University of Southern Mississippi before the registration process can be completed. Contact the DuBard School for more information.

DuBard School Accreditation
The DuBard Association Method® training course of the DuBard School for Language Disorders at the The University of Southern Mississippi holds accredited status from the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council (IMSLEC) for its instructional programs at the teaching, trainer of teaching, therapy, and trainer of therapy levels.
IMSLEC is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1995 to accredit organizations that offer programs to prepare specialists in multisensory structured language programs. Click this IMSLEC link for more information.
The USM DuBard School for Language Disorders is approved by the Continuing Education Board of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) to provide continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology.
