New Writers Institute

Ever wonder how worlds of wizardry, half-bloods, and hobbits come to life? At the New Writers Institute, we’ll explore these fictive worlds and create our own. This two-week summer camp, sponsored by the Center for Writers in the Department of English, is open to young writers ages eight to fifteen. Participants will be encouraged to explore their literary talents in a friendly and supportive environment under the guidance of published writers. Our new writers will have the opportunity to read and write fiction, graphic fiction, and poetry, and we’ll welcome guest speakers to discuss the craft of writing. As a result, each participant will produce original works culminating in a public reading that showcases and celebrates their talents.
Mon-Fri; June 20-July 1; 1:00pm-5:00pm

The combined price for both camps is $395, and all rates are discounted $25 if paid in full by May 1st.
