Study Abroad

In conjunction with academic departments at Southern Miss, the Office of Study Abroad send more than 400 students abroad each year.  Study abroad programs range in duration from a few weeks to an entire academic year. With over 35 faculty-led and exchange programs to nearly 20 countries, USM offers students the opportunity to earn academic credit while gaining international experience. See below for programs that offer courses specifically for English credit.

British Studies Program

You'll be living and learning in London, a city of over eight million people, in a wide-ranging program in its fourth decade. The British Studies Program is organized by The University of Southern Mississippi in cooperation with an academic consortium of other colleges and universities. You will take one course for six hours of credit on the program, learning through lectures taught by eminent scholars, artists, business leaders and government officials, and field excursions and seminars led by American professors. London is your classroom as you experience your subject firsthand and conduct research supervised by your professor.

English Courses:

·       Children’s Literature

·       Victorian Gothic Literature
