Dr. Jen Regan
Associate Teaching Professor
Bio
I received my B.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of Southern Mississippi. While attending USM, I was active in the Honors College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in May, 1993. I completed my Ph.D. in Biology at the University of Houston, focusing on speciation, evolution of reproductive isolation, and the effects of population size on evolutionary potential. I returned to USM the semester prior to completing my Ph.D. to teach. While teaching at USM, I became very interested in student learning, altering my teaching style to provide more student interaction. This path also led to my joining the author team of two Human Anatomy and Physiology textbooks. Being an author has provided me the opportunity to share my pedagogical techniques with many faculty and students across the nation and to fine tune my own techniques to improve student learning.
