Dr. Jennifer Anderson

Assistant Teaching Professor


Jennifer Anderson received her B.S. degree in Environmental Biology from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 2001, her M.S. in Marine Biology from USM in 2006, and her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from USM in 2015. Before joining the faculty of USM in 2011, Dr. Anderson worked in private Environmental Consulting and taught Biology on an adjunct basis for USM and Pearl River Community College. Dr. Anderson is particularly interested in the co-constructions of space, place, and race on college campuses during the second half of the 20th century and how these constructions were influenced by outside forces, especially political forces.
