Dr. Nicholas Castro

Assistant Professor

Currently, I teach courses and research in the School of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Southern Mississippi. My passion and research objectives are aimed at investigating the associations among lifestyle factors and cardiometabolic risk in children attempting to contribute to the fight against the global childhood obesity epidemic upon us. Subsequently, the outcomes of my research will help inform health professionals, health and physical education curricula, and children's health policy guidelines as to the most effective way to make an impact on the deteriorating health of children.
