Assistant Professor of French
Dr. Katie Angus joined the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Southern Mississippi in Fall 2013 where she teaches courses in French and Second Language Acquisition.
She holds a B.A. in French, a B.S. with a double major in Economics and Business, and an M.A. in French Literature from the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds an M.A. in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona. In May 2014, she received a Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona, after having completed a dissertation on the professional development of foreign language teaching assistants.
Katie is a proud Pennsylvanian, but she has spent considerable time in Europe, teaching English in France and Andorra, studying abroad, and working for study abroad programs in France. Her research interests include the professional development of foreign language instructors, the incorporation of technology in the classroom, and study abroad.
