As a Carnegie Doctoral Research Extensive institution, the Southern Miss Graduate School offers nearly 75 different certificate, master's, specialist's, and doctoral degree programs through the Colleges of Arts and Letters, Business, Education and Psychology, Health, Nursing, and Science and Technology.
Application for Graduate Degree or Certificate
The application for graduate degree or certificate is for individuals who are interested in earning a graduate degree or certificate.

Application for Graduate Non-Degree
The application for non-degree is for individuals who are interested in beginning coursework before applying to a graduate program or who have no intention of applying to a graduate program. If you are interested in beginning your graduate studies as a non-degree student, please select the term for which you wish to apply.
Application for Readmission
The application for readmission is for individuals who are returning to a graduate program into which they were previously admitted and enrolled.
If you are interested in applying to a program you were previously admitted and enrolled, please select the term for which you wish to apply.
However, if you are intending to return to Southern Miss in a different program or were previously an undergraduate student, you will need to submit a new program application.

Note: Questions regarding financial aid availability for students only seeking a certificate program or applying as non-degree should be directed to Financial Aid as financial aid restrictions may apply.
Admission decisions are made by the academic unit. Therefore, the Graduate School is unable to disclose reasons for admission denial to the applicant. Applicants can submit a signed, written request (request cannot be accepted by email or phone) to the department to which the application was directed. However, departments may or may not choose to disclose this information to the applicant. Please see departmental websites for mailing information.
