MENTORING MATTERS LUNCH AND LEARN

The Graduate School and the Office of the Provost Center for Faculty Development will host a series of mentoring lunch and learns. In this hands-on workshop led by Graduate School Dean Karen Coats, you will learn about the theory and practice of good mentoring. Through the use of case studies and small group discussion, Dean Coats and exceptional campus mentors will guide new faculty and graduate students serving as teaching assistants through an exploration of the importance of mentoring the career of all faculty members.

THREE-MINUTE THESIS® COMPETITION

The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a communication skills development competition, which challenges graduate students to explain the significance of their research projects to a general audience in three minutes. It provides a great opportunity for you to develop communication skills and showcase your research, as well as open doors to new collaborations and networks, all while competing for cash awards.
